Haha, guess it's the 2nd last physics test ever in my life today and teachers' day performance and memories of bsp camp and everything else.
Though I got kicked out of grand finals. No more project work for me!
Hah, the 何老师 from bsp camp gave me a call to ask for bsp camp photos which I would gladly burn into a disc for her. As I was reviewing the photos, I came across the never-seen-before video of the finale. 第一天我存在第一次呼吸畅快！Omg, so high (: All the jumping and running around.
Hahh, wlao i dont know why i will always get very high when i talk abt bsp camp. hahah :D
Oh yah, and i got kicked out of projects day already. like finally. no more hopes from there on. hah, guess i'm not the only person with triple A*. bryan choooo and jerrold, all the 4a kia, as pro as well. oh i didnt say i was pro. hahaah (: humbbbleee. xD
But I guess I have to thank the grand finals because it forced me to touch up everything and compiled the whole research into a proper report, which i can gladly build on next time when i embark on researches. (:

THOUGH I REALLY HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT HOW PATHETIC OUR SCHOOL PROJECT WORK SYSTEM AND THE ADMINSTRATION IS. But i shant really complain much because our sch's admin is really quite gd compared to other school. the main point is "when compared to other school".
Like we can use the same kind of criteria to judge a RESEARCH, a SERVICE-LEARNING, an ANIMATION? Hello, they vary so so much in terms of their nature?

cat 3, qualitative, should be removed from projects day, or maybe the way it is judged. 7 minutes is crap for presenting a research paper.
and then, cat 8 (or 7? i dont know lah, dont care) chinese language arts is crap also because it's all about presentation skills. and how well you kope your information and your website making skills. which has no academic value. total zero. it's about how well you crap.
cat 9 (isit?) service learning is now spammed with projects because the school oh-so-promote SL for students to learn. okay la, while i guess they have achieved relative success. okay i think i shall not be critical about SL. even if it's a failed attempt, at least it's an attempt. cannot blame the school for it.
But those emo-emo SL projects who so appealed to ethos (the oh-so-favourite word by our english common test marker who gave yiding 26 and jinyao 21/+). Boohoo, oh so sad, portray everything as so sad and all. It's so sad, that it becomes fake, that it becomes irritating.
Realist theory - the primary motivation of states (AND PEOPLE) is the desire for power or security (AND PERSONAL INTERESTS), rather than ideals or ethics . paul ho all time favourite word. Hahaha.
But anyway I'm thinking of doing a SL project at jc! Wow, after all the crap I talked, I actually want to do SL. But i'm thinking of doing something like promotion of singaporean heritage and culture among singaporeans - that my projects and I all think that this is probably what Snigapore needs.
WE are losing too much of our culture - all the 大戏 you see in the past disappearing, all the dialects our youths are not picking up, all the 七月歌台 which are disappering as well (until 881 came about lols), all the skills of craft that are disappearing (like pottery and other coolio art stuff).
WE are losing so much of our precious Chinese/Singaporean culture that I feel the fear you know. So while we are trying to create this Singaporean identity, what is the identity we are actually looking at? I read somewhere that the government does not want to see singapore as a melting pot (or that the govt wants to? ahah, maybe i saw things the wrong way).
We have our identity to keep, we have our culture to perserve.
And doing such stuff is still providing our service to the community. Like stop being emo and focus on other things.
There's so many meaningful things we can do for our community!

Time flies, really.
I have been so tired recently, both mind and body, I haven't gotten in touch with the world for a while. Have been out for too long a while. Haven't really checked out my blog and the lives of people around.
Friday was Projects Day Finals. So was the Passing Out Parade.
Projects Day(s) is/are always a tiring experience for me. The night before any of these days usually ends up as a sleepless one. Finals was tiring, as usual. The Singaporean Attitude. 海洋世界嗖嗖嗖. Learning how to learn. I hope I didn't let any one of them down.
3 projects, this year. 3 projects, previous year. 3 projects, the previous previous years. 1 project in Secondary 1. Wow, it has been quite an enriching experience, really. Though the Chinese projects were kind of 'meaningless', especially when your mentor happens to be AHEMM. But it honed my website designing skills, my presentation skills and what-so-ever things. Qualitative stretches you so much mentally and intellectually. And 3 other projects which took variation over the years - HeritageProject, Service Learning and Thinkquest. So many, so much to think abuot, so many things learnt.
Sometimes I wonder why I do so much, especially when there is no observable benefits (they dont render you any marks in your examinations, or whatsoever) Maybe you just get a certificate and a name that you have gotten an 'A' in so-and-so project. There's nothing much to it even if you win the Grand Finals and all. So what? Sometimes it's kind of funny to ask myself where I get the motivation from to do all these, especially when the times get tough. And the funny thing is I don't know either. Perhaps a sense of responsiblity or a tinge of interest. Quantiatively I think I totally owned the competition with 10 projects in 4 years. Qualitatively I think I did not do exceptionally well, only managing 2 grand finals audition and 1 grand finals. Intellectually I think I have experienced a lot from the competition as a whole.
This Finals was a last one.
If there's no grand finals this year, this perhaps marks the end of the Project Work journey for me.
Things end so fast, I don't know how to manage.
Think it was lethargy. I didn't have the mind to think about the sadness and all during the Passing out Parade. Changed into the NPCC No.3 uniform for, I guess, the last time. Beret with the yellow flash for the last time. Saluting the last time. Marching the last time. Pumping the last 10 push-ups. And saying goodbye.
I guess I'm really quite proud of myself for what I have done and achieved.
I did well, quite well. While my achievements are not, in any sense, legendary. The efforts I put in, I think I saw the results.
Station Inspector (NPCC) Neo Yee Chong Jonathan.
The squad has grown and seen through much. Experienced much as an EXCO. Loads of events, loads of activities. Many fun times, many sad ones, many tiring ones. Parades, ATCs, Weekly trainings, EXCO Meetings, Tancw emails. Parts and parcel of NPCC life. Now it has come to an end, and the memories will be kept in our minds.
Now that NPCC has ended, I think my gmail will no longer see the influx of emails again than ever before. 1638 emails worth of NPCC stuff.
Secondary 3 NCO. Hah, it has been quite an experience with that bunch of people. A variety of people. I hoped I did well. I hope they saw it well. Good luck for the year of work and fun ahead. To some of you, throw away the sense of arrogrance. To some, work hard and you will learn. To others, work hard and go for whatever you believe in.
NPCC life pretty much ended last Friday. I will not be thinking very much about becoming a Cadet Inspector, though it has been said (i have heard so) that it would appear pretty nice on your portfolio. Something which I pretty hate. If you have passion for something, the things will come along. (same like, if you are involved in community work, you don't have to bother about CIP hours. they will come naturally. if you need to be bothered about CIP hours and worked for the hours, that means there's something wrong with you involvement in communtiy work already.)
I think I have got other targets to aim for and other passions to develop. (:
Okay, instead of hiding, I shall make my intent clear - I'm aimming for council in jc! my chances are low, but still i'm hoping to get in. Vote for me! lol (:

Instead of pointing out the 'negative-negative' examples (not morally unright, not look untidy), would you like to substantiate your points with regards to why would you want to legalize ankle socks? More often than not, the main reason for wearing ankle socks comes from the inherent, rebellious psyche among the youths. Popularized by fashion and culture, most students succumb to such a temptation under peer pressure. While the removal of the ban is one of the methods to play by (or maybe give in to) the 'rebellious psyche', the root of the problem is still not, in any way, resolved. This psyche will continue to perpetuate itself within our school or society. More of such antics are bound to reappear in other forms of behaviour.
Impressed. While Hwa Chong has always believe in the philosophy of 'a school with no rules', fast-changing culture and environment has brought topic into limelight again. I agree that rules should be implemented. But we should also allow for a certain degree of flexibility in the enforcement of such rules.

Oh yah! I always wanted to say all these but I didn't get the chance to. So here it does.
1. People who are have not experienced military or UG training do not know how to appreciate parades. Experience from school NDP when there were some really random comments made about the parades. Lol, like so and so did something that they thought was funny. From the UG person point of view, it's so .__. That's why guys should go for NS. Then they will understand the military style of discipline and hardwork. Then they will come to respect the national crest, the national flag and stuff.
2. Star searches show are too prevalent in the society today, to the extent whereby almost every other person is becoming a star. While I'm have not always been critical of such shows, the increasing number of shows of this kind is becoming annoying. Have they got nothing better to do than to commercalized everyone into a superstar? I seriously dont know what's their motive - like do they really earn so much from such shows? Having one or two in a long while is okay, at least one or two superstar will suffice our desire for idols (if any). Anyway the more you create such shows, the further the appeal drops. Too many idols, dont know which one you go after -.-
3. Movies that feature time-turning scenes are scientifically impossible While some physics freak can throw me the theory of relatively or special relativity (cuz i dont understand a thing), these things are just impossible lah. Lakehouse, deja vu and COUGH. a very recent CHINESE rommance movie. (in case i spoilt the show for anyone who has yet to watch), all used time-turning as a main part of the show. While they may be thrilling or romantic in their own sense, my rational self just cannot bring me to believe that such things could be possible, in any way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the term 'emo' simply means that one is emotional or, in fact, overly-emotional for your own good in that sense. (unless you consider thoughts about slashing your arm is extremely beneficial for both your mental and physical health) Supposedly, the term originated from a genre of music into a slang and, now, a everyday household word that all teenagers will (and must) use. So commercalised and popularized by people nowadays, a lot of people think that being emo is in the 'in' thing now. Why the heck is it cool to be emo?! And the problem here is that, since people think it's cool, a lot of people are trying to be 'emo'. (okay that includes me but I SHANT DWELL ON THAT). So overly used that sometimes we cannot differentiate who are the real ones and who the darn fakers. And I seriously think that those who are really 'emo' needs to see psycharists to have their thoughts corrected, in a way. So are you really 'emo' or not? Next time before you use the word, think again.
